To provide support/deputise as required for the Senior Clinical Matron and to provide strong clinical leadership and management of both registered and unregistered staff. The job holder will have excellent communication skills, demonstrate that they are skilled in difficult, contentious and sensitive conversation with all stakeholders they engage with, provide confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

To manage a team of anaesthetic team leads and practitioners.A key responsibility is to ensure that the patient experience is of the highest quality, inspiring patient and public confidence. This will be achieved through high visibility, accessibility and surveillance ensuring the principles of clinical governance are implemented at local level. Commitment to the clinical area, valuing the contribution of all team members, encouraging a positive and creative working environment, ensuring staff well being is a priority. The job holder will have management responsibility for commonly held resources and shared budget and support the SCM in managing departmental budgets. The job holder will support specialty team leaders to ensure consistency of operational delivery, optimal use of resources between specialities and overall delivery of all required activity. To lead on absence management, ensuring all teams monitor their sickness and complete sickness meetings as per UHNT policy.

A strong clinical background in scrub is essential and experience at working at a senior level in Anaesthetics is essential.

- The job holder will support the Patient Experience Team being a focal point for advice to patients and carers and local resolution of complaints
- To coordinate the theatre suite and ensure staffing, skill mix is safe and effective
- Commitment to collaborative team working across disciplines, specialities, teams and Trust wide
- Promote a culture of learning, inclusivity, equality and quality improvement in the clinical areas
- Ensure audits and compliance of key essential policies is embedded in the theatre culture
