**If successful your responsibilities will include**: To support the Matron and ward managers to ensure that high quality patient focused care is delivered within the Childrens and Ambulatory Units including Childrens Outpatient Department. To actively participate in the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the service. To act as an expertly skilled clinical nurse, leader and role model whilst providing direct quality patient care. To utilise expert clinical judgement, decision making and skills in relation to the assessment and management of children within the service.

To work within the Ambulatory Unit, Childrens Outpatients and inpatient area teams on nursing issues and management of clinical governance issues. To participate in the supervision, teaching, mentorship and appraisal of pre and post registration nurses. To work collaboratively with the multi-professional team and ward managers to ensure the delivery of high quality service provision. The post holder will be required to work flexibly to achieve the key responsibilities of the post.
