Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Specialist provision in North London. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of SEN children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Class Teacher: Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons and activities that cater to the needs of SEN children.
  • Encourage Expected Behavior: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment by encouraging expected behavior and promoting social skills among SEN children.
  • Support Offsite Activities: Accompany SEN children on offsite activities and outings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Record Progress: Monitor and record the progress of SEN children, providing valuable insights to support their learning and development.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with SEN children, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Passion for SEN Teaching: Demonstrate a genuine passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to supporting the unique needs of SEN children.
  • Energetic and Enthusiastic Personality: Possess an energetic and enthusiastic personality, with the ability to engage and motivate SEN children.
  • Experience Working with SEN Children: Have experience working with SEN children in a school or care setting, with a strong understanding of their needs and requirements.
  • Personal Care Experience: Possess personal care experience, moving and handling skills, or British Sign Language (BSL) qualifications (desirable but not essential).
