About the Position

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Cost Management Specialist to become a part of our Rail division, contributing to significant infrastructure projects.

This position entails engaging in various frameworks for a major rail network, focusing on essential tasks such as concrete restoration, drainage solutions, ground stabilization, track enhancements, and structural modifications. You will be instrumental in delivering intricate projects that are vital to our operations and will play a key role in some of the most impactful infrastructure initiatives in the sector.

The role provides flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options and the possibility of part-time hours.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all financial aspects related to infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on identifying commercial risks and opportunities. Support senior team members in executing diverse commercial responsibilities, including procurement and supply chain management. Enhance commercial outcomes through meticulous cost management and identifying value-for-money prospects, while ensuring compliance with quality standards. Foster and maintain commercial relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Assist in adhering to the Gated Business Lifecycle process. Utilize the company’s ERP and BMS systems effectively. Keep an updated Personal Development Plan.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or holding a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience. Proven experience in infrastructure projects, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to success.

Desirable Attributes/Experience:

A well-organized, innovative, and resourceful Quantity Surveyor. Previous experience in cost management and maximizing project value. Background in financial and commercial oversight within project environments. Experience in procurement and supply chain management. Ability to work collaboratively within commercial teams. Membership or progress towards RICS qualification. A solid track record of meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
