We are currently seeking a Junior Cost Estimator to join our team, contributing to a long-term framework contract focused on strategic road network enhancements. Key Responsibilities of the Junior Cost Estimator:

Reporting directly to a Senior Cost Estimator and Mentor, you will play a vital role in delivering projects valued at up to £30 million.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining awareness of the profitability of contracts within the framework
  • Conducting weekly reviews and reporting on project costs and values, collaborating with operational teams
  • Preparing monthly forecasts for contracts
  • Assisting the finance team in the preparation of monthly payment applications
  • Compiling and reviewing monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports with management
  • Managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final settlement
  • Overseeing subcontractor management within projects, including payments and liabilities
  • Assisting in contract reviews with operational staff to identify potential shortfalls and cost overruns
  • Participating in contract progress meetings as necessary
  • Collaborating effectively with clients to foster strong partnerships
  • Providing commercial support to operational teams

Requirements for the Junior Cost Estimator:

A degree in quantity surveying or a related field, or equivalent experience is essential. Candidates should have:

  • Prior experience in UK highways or infrastructure projects
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to the role
