About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, providing professional and efficient support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support via our Service Desk telephone system, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Incident Management: Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues; install new equipment and software as required.
  • Service Request Management: Manage incidents and service requests through our in-house ticketing system, ensuring they are tracked until fully resolved.
  • Problem Identification: Identify recurring issues and trends, suggesting improvements to enhance overall system performance.
  • IT Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets within our CMDB system.
  • Purchasing and Procurement: Manage purchasing requests, adhering to financial processes, negotiating with suppliers, and liaising with users.
  • Compliance and Governance: Adhere to established IT service desk policies, processes, and standards, ensuring compliance with best practices and legal obligations.
  • Out-of-Hours Support: Provide out-of-hours support for business-critical faults outside of normal working hours.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Incident Management Experience: Experience managing incidents and service requests through a ticketing system.
  • Problem Identification and Resolution: Ability to identify and suggest improvements for recurring issues.
  • IT Asset Management Knowledge: Knowledge of IT asset management and CMDB systems.
  • Purchasing and Procurement Experience: Experience in managing purchasing requests and negotiating with suppliers.
  • IT Trends and Technologies: Up-to-date knowledge of IT trends and technologies.
