Job Title: Part-Time Special Education Needs Support Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Aspire People. As a SEN Support Specialist, you will work with a range of local Primary schools, providing dedicated support to children with Special Educational Needs and lower-level ability children.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to children with SEN, helping them access the curriculum with ease
  • Encourage, motivate, and support children to achieve their targets set in line with their individual education plan (IEP)
  • Complete IEPs to ensure everything is covered and the child's accomplishments are recorded and rewarded
  • Communicate and build rapport with children, parents, and school staff
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or long-term experience working with children on a one-to-one basis with a thorough knowledge of the EYFS to Y6 curriculum
  • SEN experience and a passion for working with SEN children
  • Able to communicate and build rapport with children, parents, and school staff
  • Flexible and positive attitude to working
  • Clear DBS check
