Core Responsibilities

The Product Development – Specialists position serves as the internal liaison for the investment team, tasked with defining, developing, implementing, and maintaining investment offerings throughout their lifecycle, with the goal of optimizing and delivering commercially viable products and initiatives. This role also involves conducting proactive market research, analysis, and coordination on new product proposals. The Specialists Team focuses on products within the Wealth market, specifically for Private, alternative, and illiquid asset classes, as well as Insurance Solutions and Multi-Private Asset products. The selected candidate will act as a subject matter expert within the broader Product Team, providing technical insights related to products and functional knowledge of their respective areas.

Key Focus Areas Include:

Product Strategy

  • Conduct comprehensive market research across all Private/Alternative asset classes to understand current trends and activities, summarizing findings into tailored outputs for relevant internal teams.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product team, Client Portfolio Managers, Sales, and other key functions to contribute to the firm's strategic plans for relevant asset classes and distribution channels.
  • Coordinate with various internal teams on product proposals for new ideas and effectively communicate these as necessary.

Product Development and Launch

  • Manage and socialize fund launches with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in structuring, documenting, and financial modeling of new and existing funds.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on fund commercial terms and mechanics.
  • Maintain technical expertise and stay informed on the evolving regulatory landscape, proactively addressing changes as needed.
  • Guide all product launches through the governance process.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with Client Portfolio Managers, Legal, Compliance, Sales, Operations, Investment, Finance, and Risk teams, as well as external legal counsel and fund administrators.
  • Design and implement currency hedging strategies for both new and existing funds.

Product Maintenance

  • Act as the primary investment team representative to internal business partners regarding product-level activities.
  • Research and communicate product trends and innovations, focusing on fund economics and mechanics.

Qualifications

  • Ideally, candidates should possess some or all of the following:
  • Experience working with or on investment funds.
  • Practical knowledge of AIFMD, UCITS, and European fund product strategy and management.
  • Experience with currency markets, FX derivatives, and hedging strategies.
  • Experience in private assets investment strategies.
  • Highly organized, numerate, with strong attention to detail and excellent project management skills.
  • Accounting qualification (ACA), CFA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for diverse internal and external audiences.
