Brakes is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Manager to join our team, responsible for overseeing quality standards and compliance within our operations.
In this role, you will manage the quality assurance processes at our distribution and manufacturing facilities. Your primary focus will be to ensure adherence to food safety, quality, hygiene, and legal standards through the implementation and monitoring of a robust Quality Management System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain relevant certifications at the manufacturing site, with a goal to advance from current standards to higher food safety benchmarks.
- Ensure compliance with third-party certifications and standards.
- Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with the Quality Management System and industry standards.
- Manage the Approved Supplier List, ensuring it is updated in accordance with new supplier introductions and product assessments.
- Oversee the approval process for new product codes, ensuring all supplier documentation is reviewed and compliant.
- Assist in customer and regulatory audits, providing necessary support during visits.
- Lead investigations into product complaints and non-conformance issues, focusing on technical resolutions.
- Ensure that all personnel receive appropriate training related to food safety, quality, and hygiene practices.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess a full clean Drivers Licence and ideally hold a degree in Food Science Technology or a related field, though this is not mandatory. You should be qualified in HACCP and Internal Auditing. This position is suitable for those looking to advance their career in quality management within the food industry. Demonstrable experience in manufacturing and a solid understanding of food safety legislation, quality management systems, and auditing practices are essential. Strong communication skills are vital, as you will be interacting with various stakeholders. Additionally, effective project management skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are key attributes for success in this role.
