Insurance Underwriting Support Specialist

About the Role

Pro Insurance Solutions Ltd is seeking dedicated Insurance Underwriting Support Specialists to enhance our expanding team. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of remote work and office collaboration.

We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time roles.

Key Responsibilities

The Insurance Underwriting Support Specialist will assist Underwriting Support Managers and the underwriting teams in daily operations. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Clearing submissions for new insurance risks
  • Guiding new brokers through the accreditation process
  • Preparing quotes, certificates, and policy documentation
  • Managing and following up on audit requirements
  • Coordinating new survey instructions and monitoring subsequent requirements
  • Assisting new coverholders through the approval process
  • Managing coverholder bordereau submissions
  • Understanding individual (re)insurance contract details, including notification and security requirements, to provide effective reporting and oversight
  • Ensuring timely and accurate security requirements in support of underwriting operations
  • Grasping underwriting support processes and systems, extracting and manipulating submission-related data from broker portals
  • Quality checking risk recording instructions to ensure accuracy before issuance to offshore teams
  • Identifying and transitioning tasks from onshore to offshore teams
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with the underwriting team, ensuring regular communication with underwriting management regarding operational matters
  • Monitoring workflow tools to ensure timely completion of tasks

Required Skills and Experience

  • Relevant experience in the (re)insurance industry, preferably within the underwriting sector
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to exercise discretion in resolving process issues to support our global outsourcing models
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement
  • Flexibility to adapt to the demands of the role, especially during peak underwriting periods
  • Proven skills in prioritizing and organizing tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Experience in supporting work allocation and adhering to SLAs and tight deadlines
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining positive working relationships
