Role Description

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is responsible for maintaining driver licensing and vehicle registration in Great Britain, alongside the collection and enforcement of vehicle tax in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Effectively managing, coaching, and driving team performance, taking accountability for outcomes related to customer service, quality, and efficiency.
  • Efficiently overseeing your team's attendance, performance, and conduct in accordance with management policies and procedures.
  • Identifying and implementing improved working practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Enhancing your capabilities in managing workplace change, promoting digital initiatives, and supporting staff through transitions.

Working Hours

Successful candidates may be required to work within one of the following shift patterns:

  • Between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Shift work between 8am and 7pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays from 8am to 2pm.
  • Shift work between 10am and 7pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays from 8am to 2pm.

Some positions may also necessitate occasional travel and overnight stays to manage remote teams. Flexibility in working hours is essential to meet business needs.

Additional Information

Applications are welcome from individuals seeking full-time, part-time, or job-sharing opportunities. Full-time roles at the DVLA consist of 37 hours per week, with part-time and flexible working arrangements available depending on business requirements. While we encourage applications for part-time hours, candidates must be prepared to work a minimum of 30 hours per week across five days.

If you do not currently hold the Operational Delivery Profession qualification(s), you must be willing to pursue these upon employment.

About the Operational Delivery Profession

The Operational Delivery Profession (ODP) represents the largest and most diverse professional community within the Civil Service, encompassing roles that are public-facing or primarily support public-facing functions, all vital to delivering UK public services.

Due to the evolving nature of our operations, vacancies may arise at any time, and this campaign may create a reserve list to meet future demand, valid for a period of 12 months.
