Patient Transport Operations Supervisor

Swansea, City and County of Swansea, United Kingdom Welsh Ambulance NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking to fill two part-time Supervisor roles within our Patient Transport Operations, with flexible hours available.

The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) plays a crucial role in facilitating non-urgent and pre-arranged transportation for patients traveling to and from medical facilities for scheduled appointments.

This position requires independent work to serve as the primary contact for patients attending routine medical visits, addressing inquiries from patients, healthcare teams, and departments regarding all matters related to non-emergency transport. The role also involves close collaboration with scheduling and planning teams to ensure efficient patient flow.

The Supervisor will oversee NEPTS operational staff while at the medical facility, ensuring optimal resource utilization, coordinating with healthcare personnel to support effective patient discharges, and verifying transport arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong computer and IT proficiency, experience in teamwork, and possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. A solid educational background is preferred, along with the ability to work independently and experience in a customer-oriented environment.

Familiarity with the geographical regions of Central and West Wales is beneficial, and proficiency in the Welsh language is a plus, though not mandatory.

This role offers the chance to thrive in a dynamic and demanding environment, where daily coordination and problem-solving are essential. The department operates on a standard weekday schedule.

Welsh language skills are desirable for this position; applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.
