Position Overview

Are you an experienced and dedicated pharmacy technician eager to take on a pivotal role in the realm of mental health services? If so, we invite you to consider an opportunity to join our dynamic and supportive pharmacy team as a Senior Pharmacy Technician specializing in procurement.

This role is ideal for a GPhC registered pharmacy technician seeking to transition into a new sector, regardless of clinical background. The successful candidate will be integrated within the dispensary team.

The selected individual will collaborate closely with dispensary assistants, pharmacy technicians, and clinical pharmacy personnel to ensure the pharmacy department effectively acquires and distributes the most economical medications for our patients.

We are looking for someone with a flexible mindset who can adapt to the service's needs and possesses a strong commitment to teamwork. Organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, excellent interpersonal abilities, and confidence in working autonomously are essential. This position is full-time, with part-time options available, and we support flexible working arrangements.

Main Responsibilities

As the Senior Pharmacy Technician for procurement, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of medications for the organization.
  • Updating and maintaining prescription templates within the electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) system.
  • Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to pharmacy procurement processes.
  • Overseeing and managing the dispensary staff.
  • Engaging in organization-wide medicines management initiatives.
  • Participating in audits related to medicines management.
  • Facilitating education and training for student pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists.
