We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Oncology and Haematology team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician in this role, you will play a critical part in providing a clinical pharmacy service to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain an advanced clinical technical service to the Trust, particularly in the clinical verification of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT).
- Support the Oncology and Haematology pharmacy service in dealing with technical and clinical queries from the multidisciplinary team, wider pharmacy department, and patients.
- Complete drug histories for ward patients and build chemotherapy regimens on the electronic chemotherapy prescribing system (ARIA).
- Contribute to the implementation and writing of SACT Treatment Protocols for Oncology and Haematology.
- Contribute to the implementation and writing of Standard Operating Procedures accompanying the Clinical technical services.
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Accredited checking technician for final checking of dispensed medicines.
- Leadership/management course certificate or diploma.
- BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
- Significant experience of working in pharmacy oncology/haematology.
