About the Role

Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Development Community Staff Nurse for Health Visiting to join our team. As a key member of our health visiting team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to families and children in the Wokingham locality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to families in various community settings, working under the direction of the Health Visitor to address diverse social, health, and wellbeing needs.
  • Plan and deliver health-enhancing activities for children and their families, including group work, child health clinics, developmental review clinics, and individual support.
  • Support families using the Solihull Approach model in behavior management, parenting skills, and delivering programs of care to vulnerable families identified by the Health Visitor.
  • Liaise with other agencies and services to provide integrated and cohesive support for children and their families, under the direction of the Health Visitor.
  • Work with the HV team to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), focusing on antenatal and 6-8 week postnatal contacts.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse or midwife
  • Committed to professional development
  • Ability to carry/manoeuvre light to moderate loads
  • Valid UK driver's license with access to a vehicle
  • Documented evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Paediatric experience
  • Community Nursing experience
  • Child Protection knowledge
  • Leadership qualities
  • Evidence of proactive and innovative/reflective practitioner
Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Health Visiting service
