Position Overview: Project Planner

Salary: Approximately 45,000PA

Location: Workington, Cumbria

We are seeking a dedicated Project Planner to enhance our operations, responsible for crafting and sustaining intricate project timelines to guarantee effective project execution. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in aiding our project teams, conveying progress updates, and suggesting strategies to alleviate potential challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop thorough Tender and Project schedules derived from Commercial estimates, Logic diagrams, and industry standards.
  • Continuously update and manage project timelines with actual and projected progress, completion percentages, and earned value, providing key performance indicators (KPIs) to Senior Management, Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and Cost Engineers as necessary.
  • Collect and synthesize data from diverse sources, including Manufacturing Planners, Project Engineers, Buyers, and the Commercial team.
  • Collaborate with the Planning Team Leader, Project Planners, Engineers, and Managers to deliver progress updates and address impacts, ensuring transparency of project schedules across various departments.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to resolve potential progress challenges and conflicts, aiding in the formulation of revised operational plans.
  • Assist in the creation of Manufacturing forward load as required.
  • Support the Project team in showcasing project progress during regular client meetings.

Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:

  • Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft planning software is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite is desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills, proactive problem-solving capabilities, and a self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently.

Detail-oriented and thorough.

Experience in manufacturing processes within an Engineering Manufacturing environment is desirable.

An engineering qualification is desirable but not essential.
