Position Overview: Project Planner
Salary: Approximately 45,000 PA
Location: Workington, Cumbria
Note: All candidates must be British Nationals due to project requirements. Applications from individuals outside this criterion will not be considered.
We are looking for a dedicated Project Planner to take charge of creating and maintaining detailed project timelines to ensure effective project execution. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in supporting our project teams, communicating progress updates, and suggesting solutions to alleviate potential challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop thorough Tender and Project schedules based on commercial assessments, logical frameworks, and industry standards.
- Continuously update and manage project timelines with actual and projected progress, percentage completions, and earned value, reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and cost engineers as required.
- Collect and synthesize data from multiple sources, including manufacturing planners, project engineers, procurement specialists, and the commercial team.
- Work closely with the Planning Team Leader, project planners, engineers, and managers to provide updates on progress and address impacts, ensuring transparency of program schedules across various departments.
- Identify and recommend solutions to tackle potential progress challenges and conflicts, aiding in the formulation of revised operational plans.
- Assist in the creation of manufacturing forward load as necessary.
- Support the project team in presenting project advancements during regular client meetings.
Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:
- Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft planning software is preferred.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, proactive problem-solving capabilities, and a self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently.
Detail-oriented and thorough.
Experience in manufacturing processes within an engineering manufacturing environment is desirable.
An engineering qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
