Position Overview: Project Planner
Salary: Approximately 45,000PA
Location: Workington, Cumbria
Note: Due to project requirements, all employees must be British Nationals. Applications from individuals outside this criterion will not be considered.
We are seeking a dedicated Project Planner to take charge of creating and maintaining intricate project timelines to ensure effective project execution. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in aiding our project teams, relaying progress updates, and suggesting solutions to preemptively address potential challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed Tender and Project schedules based on commercial estimates, logical frameworks, and established norms.
- Continuously update and manage project timelines with actual and projected progress, percentage completions, and earned value, providing key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and cost engineers as necessary.
- Collect and consolidate data from various stakeholders, including manufacturing planners, project engineers, procurement teams, and commercial departments.
- Work closely with the Planning Team Leader, project planners, engineers, and managers to deliver progress updates and address impacts, ensuring transparency of project schedules across all departments.
- Identify and recommend solutions to potential scheduling conflicts and progress issues, aiding in the formulation of revised operational plans.
- Assist in the creation of manufacturing load forecasts as required.
- Support the project team in showcasing project progress during regular client meetings.
Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 or Microsoft planning software is preferred.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, proactive problem-solving capabilities, and a self-motivated team player who can work independently.
Detail-oriented and thorough.
Experience in manufacturing processes within an engineering manufacturing context is advantageous.
An engineering qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
