Position Overview: Project Planner

Salary: Approximately 45,000 PA

Location: Workington, Cumbria

Note: All candidates must be British Nationals due to project requirements.

We are seeking a dedicated Project Planner to oversee the creation and upkeep of intricate project timelines, ensuring the successful execution of projects. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in aiding project teams, tracking progress, and suggesting strategies to alleviate potential challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed Tender and Project schedules based on commercial estimates, logical frameworks, and industry standards.
  • Continuously update and manage project timelines with actual and projected progress, completion percentages, and earned value, while reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Collect and synthesize information from various departments, including manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and commercial teams.
  • Work closely with the Planning Team Leader and other project planners to provide updates on progress and address any scheduling conflicts, ensuring transparency across all departments.
  • Identify potential issues related to project progress and propose effective solutions, aiding in the formulation of revised operational plans.
  • Assist in generating forward load schedules for manufacturing as necessary.
  • Support project teams in delivering project updates during client meetings.

Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:

  • Experience with Primavera P6 or similar project management software is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Detail-oriented with a thorough approach to tasks.

Experience in manufacturing processes within an engineering environment is advantageous.

An engineering qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
