Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in Northwood, UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of technical solutions and troubleshooting procedures for maritime operations. In addition to system administration responsibilities for both hardware and software, you will assist in the planning and coordination of ship surveys and ensure all technical documentation is kept up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Core Section Head in developing technical solutions, troubleshooting protocols, and hardware upgrades.
  • Coordinate and support ship surveys for CIS installations.
  • Administer hardware and software systems for assigned operations.
  • Maintain and update technical and service documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Report configuration control data to the Core Section Head in a timely manner.
  • Provide remote support for Flagship handovers for nations involved in Standing Naval Forces (SNF).
  • Collaborate closely with technicians, engineers, and other personnel within the broader NCI Agency.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with VMware Virtualization technology.
  • Familiarity with SAN technology.
  • Expertise in Windows workstation imaging techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Server Technologies, including Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Experience with Application Server technologies.
  • Knowledge of ITIL IT service management model.
  • Familiarity with Incident and Problem Management processes.
  • High proficiency in English language.
