Mission:

Ensure that Schneider Electric's workforce and operations adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations while staying informed about any modifications to laws and regulations that may affect the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the maintenance of relevant metrics, analyze data trends, and contribute data for management reviews aimed at continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance.
  • Aid in the execution of EHS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures. Identify specific requirements for each location and take part in the creation of related programs and policies.
  • Assist in designing training programs and deliver training to ensure compliance with regulatory corporate EHS initiatives.
  • Oversee the incident and accident investigation process, including root cause analysis, and ensure that corrective actions are implemented.
  • Conduct environmental, health, and safety audits and risk assessments. Participate in external EHS compliance audits and loss prevention audits.
  • Coordinate the completion of all corrective actions with site personnel resulting from risk assessments, compliance audits, or loss prevention audits.
  • Manage facilities maintenance and property management staff to ensure that adequate fire and life safety controls are established and maintained.
  • Supervise required permitting submissions for air, water, and land jurisdictional requirements.
  • Act as the site contact for government inquiries related to EHS.
  • Serve as a technical EHS resource for management and the safety committee, leading the site safety committee.
  • Engage in the site's Continuous Improvement/Lean/5S initiatives, providing recommendations for enhancing EHS practices within the facility.
  • Oversee the site ergonomics program with assistance from external resources.
  • Collaborate with the regional security manager to ensure that appropriate life safety measures are in place.
  • Manage and coordinate facility programs and projects.
  • Lead a team of EHS, facility, and maintenance specialists.
Reporting Structure:
  • This position reports to the Plant Director.
  • Qualifications/Experience
  • NEBOSH Diploma and certified membership of IOSH.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Employee Health & Safety roles and activities related to environmental governance, with ideally previous facilities management experience.
  • Desirable - Qualified ISO auditor.
  • Position reports to the Plant Director.
