Administrative Coordinator for Haematology Department

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and committed Administrative Coordinator to join our Haematology Department at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative service to our Consultants, Junior Doctors, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deal with telephone enquiries from GPs, patients, and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner to ensure that appropriate messages are passed onto the relevant people in a timely fashion.
  • To communicate highly sensitive information to patients and consultants.
  • To ensure and maintain the efficient and effective administration for Haematology appointments and general clinic cancellations and amendments.
  • To work alongside the bookings administrator to manage and schedule Haematology appointments, including 2WW bookings.
  • To co-ordinate the department's Governance meetings, including minute-taking.

Requirements

  • GCSE education or equivalent, with good passes in Maths and English.
  • Computer literate and proficient in MS Office and databases.
  • Good understanding of the administrative functioning of an office environment.
  • Previous experience of working in a health service background, with customer care experience and the ability to work in a challenging and busy environment.
