Abatec Recruitment is currently seeking a Project Manager to join a prominent infrastructure contractor engaged in collaboration with a major water utility.


The successful candidate will initially work on a project site, with future assignments spanning across various locations within the operational region.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

  • Efficient allocation and management of site personnel.
  • Reporting to senior management regarding budget control measures for contracts and project progress.
  • Ensuring adherence to safe working practices and the company's safety policies.
  • Monitoring and enforcing the division's quality assurance and environmental standards.
  • Overseeing project and contract management.
  • Maintaining communication at all levels regarding project developments.
  • Providing line management and supervision for Sub Agents and General Foremen.
  • Indirectly supervising Site Engineers, Foremen, and Gangers.

Our client is looking for a Project Manager with the following qualifications:

  • Required: Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Preferred: Chartered status or nearing completion.
  • Evidence of relevant post-graduation training, such as courses in Forms of Contracts, Formwork/Falsework Appreciation, Concrete Technology, and Health & Safety Management.
  • Proven experience managing complex and diverse projects with significant clients.
  • Demonstrated career progression from an engineering background to Site Agent, showcasing both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
  • Required site qualifications: CSCS card, SMSTS (5-day), First Aid at Work (4-day), and National Water Hygiene card.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary range: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum.
