About the Role

Pelsis Group is a leading provider of pest control solutions, serving both professional and consumer markets with a diverse range of products and brands.

This role is part of a new team focused on leveraging a global approach to managing strategically important products across the Group, spanning all business regions and channels.

We are seeking an experienced Global Portfolio Lead to identify and exploit growth opportunities within a specified product portfolio across the group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Own the Portfolio Strategic Plan: Create and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the specified portfolio, aligning with the Group's overall vision and objectives.
  • Contribute to Regional Strategic Market Plans: Collaborate with Regional Product Managers to develop and implement market plans that drive business growth and profitability.
  • Build the Product Roadmap: Develop a product roadmap based on insights and strategy for the portfolio, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends.
  • Responsible for the Portfolio Product Lifecycle: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from development to launch and beyond, ensuring timely and successful product introductions.
  • Ensure Portfolio Alignment with Pelsis Vision: Ensure that the portfolio is aligned with the Group's overall vision and strategy, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Run the Innovation Triangle and Commercial Triangle: Lead the Innovation Triangle (Portfolio, Marketing, R&D/Design) and the Commercial Triangle (Portfolio, Sales and Marketing) for the portfolio, driving innovation and commercial success.
  • Competitor Analysis and Market Dynamics: Conduct competitor analysis and analyze market dynamics to identify opportunities and threats, informing strategic decisions.
  • Understand User Needs and Develop Relationships: Develop a deep understanding of user needs and build relationships with key accounts, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Track and Follow Customer and Consumer Trends: Monitor and analyze customer and consumer trends, informing strategic decisions and driving business growth.
  • Propose Ways to Win Market Share: Identify opportunities to win market share in each market, developing and implementing strategies to achieve this goal.
  • Drive New Product Development: Lead the development of new products, building global business cases and working closely with engineering teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Work with Supply Chain Teams: Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to manage strategic suppliers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Lead Portfolio Discussions and Presentations: Lead portfolio discussions and presentations during range reviews, ensuring effective communication and alignment with stakeholders.
  • Work with Regional Product Managers, Sales Directors, and General Managers: Collaborate with Regional Product Managers, Sales Directors, and General Managers to define range and commercial strategy, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Responsible for the Portfolio Catalogue: Oversee the development of the portfolio catalogue, including unique selling propositions, working closely with product marketing.
  • Responsible for Price Positioning: Develop and implement price positioning strategies, including launch pricing and pricing management.
  • Own the Product Messaging: Develop and implement product messaging, working closely with Brand & Marketing for communications and POS definition.
  • Develop Product Performance/Testing Methodologies: Develop and implement product performance/testing methodologies, ensuring effective product evaluation and improvement.
  • Line Management of Global Portfolio Manager(s): Provide line management to Global Portfolio Manager(s) as required, ensuring effective leadership and development.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven Work Experience: Proven work experience as Portfolio/Category/Product Lead or similar role, with a strong track record of driving business growth and profitability.
  • Technical Product Experience: Experience of working within technical product roles is essential, with digital/connected technologies an advantage.
  • Commercial Acumen: Highly commercial, with an entrepreneurial approach, able to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Innovative Mindset: Innovative mindset, able to think creatively and develop new ideas and solutions.
  • Strong Influencing Skills: Strong influencing skills, able to inspire confidence and establish strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Outstanding Communication Skills: Outstanding communication skills, able to create high-level views and prioritize strategically.
  • Data and Analysis Literate: Data and analysis literate, able to create data-led decisions.
  • Experience of Managing Product-Line Profitability: Experience of managing product-line profitability, able to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Ability to Work Across Channels and Segment Users: Ability to work across channels and segment users, able to develop effective product strategies.
  • Ability to Work with Cross-Functional and Cross-Regional Teams: Ability to work with cross-functional and cross-regional teams, able to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Fluent in Business-English: Fluent in Business-English, able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Regular Presence in West Midlands Development & Manufacturing Site: Regular presence in our West Midlands based development & manufacturing site, as well as occasional travel to the Group's regional offices, customers, suppliers, and tradeshows.
