Inverness, Highland, United Kingdom Forestry and Land Scotland Full time

Manager of Land Use Planning

At Forestry and Land Scotland, our mission revolves around 'People, Pride, and Purpose.' We invite you to take pride in contributing to the economy while safeguarding and enhancing the environment through the stewardship of Scotland's national forests and lands.

The successful candidate will operate within the West region, offering guidance and mentorship to a dedicated team of seven planning foresters in the formulation of Land Management Plans. This role involves analyzing and comprehending the ramifications of various proposals within these plans.

Collaboration is key; the planning team engages closely with other departments and stakeholders to craft economically viable forests that comply with UKFS standards, while also addressing climate change and improving our landscapes. The team is responsible for preparing and facilitating robust land management plans, which are essential documents outlining future activities such as felling, replanting, road construction, and other significant operations within each forest area.

To excel in this position, candidates should possess proven experience in forest operations or land management, with a strong background in forest land management planning.

For further details regarding this role, please consult the Job Description. Applications are accepted through our recruitment portal, requiring a CV and Covering Letter.
