Inverness, Highland, United Kingdom Forestry and Land Scotland Full time

Senior Land Management Planner

At Forestry and Land Scotland, our mission revolves around 'People, Pride, and Purpose.' We invite you to contribute to our efforts in fostering economic growth while safeguarding and enhancing the natural environment through the stewardship of Scotland's national forests and lands.

The successful candidate will oversee operations in the West region, offering guidance and mentorship to a dedicated team of seven planning foresters. This role involves the development of comprehensive Land Management Plans, as well as the analysis and interpretation of the potential impacts of various proposals within these plans.

Collaboration is key; the planning team works in tandem with various stakeholders to create economically viable forests that comply with UKFS standards. This includes adapting strategies to address climate change and improving our landscapes. The team is responsible for preparing and facilitating robust land management plans, which serve as essential documents outlining future activities such as felling, replanting, and road construction in each forest area.

To excel in this position, candidates should possess substantial experience in forest operations or land management, with a proven track record in forest land management planning.

For further details regarding this role, please refer to the Job Description. Applications are submitted through our recruitment portal, accompanied by a CV and Covering Letter.
