About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Manager to join our team at SSE PLC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for securing, maintaining, and managing robust land and property rights for projects across our network area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for successfully applying and implementing Land Assembly Strategy to deliver project programmes for Large Capital Projects.
  • Manage risk to future Network security by ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders, including landowners, tenants, and relevant bodies such as local authorities and the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit.
  • Provide expert advice on land and property rights, including wayleaves, servitudes, and land acquisition.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of landownership systems in Scotland and practical knowledge of relevant land management matters.
  • Good knowledge of land and property rights, including wayleaves, servitudes, and land acquisition.
  • Good understanding of the relevant sections of the Electricity Act 1989, the Land Compensation Act 1973, and the Compulsory Purchase Act 1965.
  • Good understanding of energy networks and their structure and governance.
  • Membership of Rural Professional Group of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, or aspirations to work towards these.
