Planning Support Manager

About the Role

At Forestry and Land Scotland, we're committed to 'People, Pride and Purpose.' As a Planning Support Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting the economy, protecting and enhancing the environment by managing Scotland's National forests and land.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and mentoring to the team of seven planning foresters on the development of Land Management Plans.
  • Analyse and understand the implications of proposals in these plans.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders and take decisions along with others in the team.
  • Work closely with other teams and stakeholders to design economically sustainable UKFS compliant forests of the future.
  • Manage, prepare and facilitate resilient land management plans.
Requirements

To be effective in this role, you'll have demonstrable experience of either forest operations, forest or land management and must have experience in forest land management planning.
