Job Summary
The Planning Support Manager will play a key role in supporting the Planning Team in the West region of Forestry and Land Scotland. The successful candidate will have experience in forest operations, forest or land management, and will be responsible for providing support and mentoring to the team of seven planning foresters.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of Land Management Plans and analyze the implications of proposals in these plans.
- Negotiate with stakeholders and take decisions along with others in the team.
- Work closely with other teams and stakeholders to design economically sustainable forests that adapt to climate change and enhance landscapes.
- Manage, prepare, and facilitate resilient land management plans that map out the future felling, replanting, road building, and other key activities in each forest area.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience of either forest operations, forest or land management.
- Experience in forest land management planning.
