Job Title: Planning Support Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Support Manager to join our team at Forestry and Land Scotland. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of Land Management Plans and analyzing the implications of proposals in these plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and mentoring to the team of seven planning foresters on the development of Land Management Plans.
  • Analyze and understand the implications of proposals in these plans.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders and take decisions along with others in the team.
  • Work closely with other teams and stakeholders to design economically sustainable UKFS compliant forests of the future.
  • Manage, prepare, and facilitate resilient land management plans.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of either forest operations, forest or land management.
  • Experience in forest land management planning.
