Planning Support Manager
At Forestry and Land Scotland, we're committed to 'People, Pride and Purpose.' As a Planning Support Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting the economy, protecting and enhancing the environment by managing Scotland's National forests and land.
The successful candidate will work across the West region, providing expert support and mentoring to a team of seven planning foresters on the development of Land Management Plans. They'll analyze and understand the implications of proposals in these plans, negotiate with stakeholders, and take decisions in collaboration with the team.
The planning team works closely with other teams and stakeholders to design economically sustainable UKFS compliant forests of the future, including adapting to climate change and enhancing our landscapes. They manage, prepare, and facilitate resilient land management plans, which are key documents that outline the future felling, replanting, road building, and other key activities in each forest area.
To excel in this role, you'll have demonstrable experience in forest operations, forest or land management, and a proven track record in forest land management planning.

Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in forest operations, forest or land management
- Proven track record in forest land management planning
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
