RAN Technical Strategy Expert

Contract role, Inside IR35

£520 per day

6mths contract

The Opportunity

CRG TEC is seeking a seasoned RAN Technical Strategy Expert to collaborate with the Head of Mobile Network Architecture in shaping the future of Radio networks for one of the UK's major mobile network operators.

  • Contribute to the development of 3- and 5-year RAN strategy plans, aligning with business requirements.
  • Work closely with the Head of Mobile Network Architecture to set out the radio capability roadmap.

This is a hybrid opportunity, with 1-2 days in Reading expected each week, allowing for a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define key requirements for Radio RFI/RFPs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Evaluate vendor responses in detail, identifying gaps and strengths.
  • Challenge and propose amendments to Radio's current plans and thinking, driving innovation.
  • Work closely with vendors, reviewing technical specifications and documents, to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Provide expert support for internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of excellence.
Requirements

This role requires a strong blend of technical and commercial skills, with a deep understanding of RAN technologies and the vendor ecosystem.

  • Subject matter expert level of experience in RAN technologies and the vendor ecosystem.
  • Senior role experience with strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complex technical ideas.

Strong understanding of Radio architecture for 4G/5G ORAN and traditional RAN networks is essential, with a focus on driving business growth.
