The Orchard is a welcoming home for 27 adults with physical and sensory impairments. Located in Liverpool, it offers easy access to the local community and transportation options. Our dedicated team provides individualized care, engaging activities, and assistive technology to create a supportive and vibrant environment.

About the Role

As a Deputy Manager at The Orchard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the home. You will work closely with the Service Manager to provide effective leadership and supervision to our team of support staff. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Service Delivery: Assisting in the delivery of high-quality care and support to residents, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Team Management: Leading, motivating, and developing a team of support staff, ensuring they have the resources and training needed to excel.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitoring and maintaining high standards of care, adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Resident Advocacy: Championing the needs and rights of residents, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.

Essential Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant professional qualification in health and social care (e.g., Level 5 Leadership in Health and Social Care).
  • Experience in managing a team of support staff within a care setting.
  • Proven experience in providing direct personal and social care to individuals with disabilities.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
