About the Role

Anord Mardix, a leading provider of critical power solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Global Customs Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our global procurement and supply chain team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a customs compliance program that ensures seamless international business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure customs regulations compliance is adhered to, in line with relevant governmental authorities and internal requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of regional and global customs/trade initiatives, including global classification policy, trade audits, and risk management, trade sanctions policies, and training programs.
  • Responsible for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of import/export regulations.
  • Oversight of the day-to-day activity of Anord Mardix personnel assigned to import/export activities.
  • Ensure proper import/export documentation and procedures are maintained in accordance with customs standards and requirements.
  • Recommend corrective action required to ensure all import/export transactions adhere to customs compliance.
  • Understand the impact of import/export transactions on VAT, particularly within the construction industry.
  • Educate and train staff on trade compliance laws and regulations.
  • Advise relevant internal departments on customs requirements and inform of any issues that may arise affecting their operations.
  • Continuously update processes in line with changing legislation.
  • Conduct internal audits and report findings.
  • Roll out training programs for internal departments for further education on international shipments.
  • Review contracts for required customs clauses and provide detailed reports for management based on observations to support business decisions.
Requirements
  • Comprehensive understanding of international trade, compliance, and customs regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of export and import controls is essential for this role.
  • Extensive knowledge of tariffs, Incoterms, deferment, and VAT postponed accounting.
  • Experience in customs compliance, HMRC audits, tax, or duty applications is desirable.
  • Previous exposure to the development of business policies and process governance within an international business is desirable.
  • Committed and energetic. Adaptable to the needs of the business.
  • Self-starter capable of working to tight and demanding deadlines.
  • Good organizational awareness and ability to build collaborative networks across a business.
  • Ability to think strategically, tactically, and laterally.
