Role Summary

We are in search of a dedicated and knowledgeable SENCo to become a vital part of our team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Special Educational Needs Coordination and demonstrate a strong commitment to assisting students who encounter various challenges, particularly those related to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing the support provided to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring their requirements are met through effective planning, execution, and assessment of support strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the support services for students with SEND.
  • Create and implement tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate closely with educators, families, and external organizations to support student needs.
  • Assess and review the effectiveness of SEND support services.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff regarding SEND matters.
  • Ensure adherence to SEND legislation and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCo).
  • Significant experience working with students with SEND.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies for support.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
  • Dedication to fostering a positive educational environment for all learners.
