B2B Sales Account Executive – Focused on Account Development and Client Relations

This is a Technical Sales position targeting the manufacturing sector, specifically in Welding, Fabrication, and Engineering Solutions.

Based in LeicesterEngineering SectorManufacturing SME

Work Environment: Combination of office and client site engagements – Schedule and conduct meetings at customer locations (approximately three per week) – Organize and facilitate client tours of the company’s advanced production facilities.

Account Management: Oversee a portfolio of 200 customer accounts, balancing new sales initiatives with account growth and management.

Compensation: Competitive base salary of £35,000 plus £4,800 car allowance and up to £12,000 in performance bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

  • Maintain a designated list of clients, nurturing long-lasting relationships.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of client needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Keep precise and current client profiles in the CRM system.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss their requirements, build trust, and secure repeat business.
  • Transform leads into sales orders through effective communication and negotiation.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.

New Business Development:

  • Establish new business relationships in line with the sales strategy, securing new clients and meeting sales/margin targets.
  • Create account sales plans, including reports for senior management to achieve annual forecasts.
  • Collaborate with marketing to support lead generation and sales presentations.
  • Work with estimation teams to contribute to quotation development, negotiation, and deal closure.
  • Design and implement account strategies to target new clients using the CRM system.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Produce weekly and monthly sales reports, analyzing performance against targets and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Monitor sales trends to inform future strategies.
  • Fulfill any other reasonable management requests.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify and pursue customer leads in a B2B context, preferably within the metalwork or mechanical engineering sectors (minimum of four years' experience).
  • Strong grasp of the sales process for both new account development and client management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills to establish trust and rapport with clients at all levels.
  • Negotiation skills focused on profitability and managing proposals/tenders.
  • Experience working with medium to large clients, including familiarity with quality procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Clear and effective communication skills for both clients and management.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment.
  • Education: Minimum of A Levels.
  • Preferred: Technical knowledge of Mechanical Engineering (Laser Cutting, Fabrication, Finishing).
  • Strong IT proficiency.
  • Experience in Construction, Engineering, or Transport (Rail/Automotive) is desirable.
