Sales Account Manager – B2B Account Development and customer management
Technical Sales role selling into manufacturing – Welding – Fabrication and engineering solutions Leicester HQ –Engineering – Manufacturing SME
Office and customer site based - Arrange and attend meetings at client sites (around 3 per week) - Arrange and host client visits to the company's state of the art production facilities.
200 customer accounts to manage and a mix of new sales, growth and account management
£35,000 basic salary plus £4,800 car allowance and £12K in bonuses

We are recruiting an experience B2B technical sales / account manager to work for this family-run business with great values who want to provide a positive environment for their employees where they can feel valued and progress their career.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Management:
- Manage a pre-determined list of assigned customers, fostering long-term relationships.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and propose solutions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer profiles in HubSpot (CRM system).
- Conduct regular customer meetings to discuss requirements, build trust, and secure repeat business.
- Convert leads into sales orders through effective communication and negotiation.
- Close sales deals and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the process.
New Account Development:
- Build new business relationships aligned with the sales strategy, securing new clients and achieving sales/margin targets.
- Develop account sales plans, including reports for the senior management, to meet annual forecasts.
- Work with marketing to facilitate lead generation and sales presentations.
- Work with estimation to input to quotation creation, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Plan and execute account strategies to target new accounts using the CRM system.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Generate weekly and monthly sales reports, analysing performance against targets and identifying improvement areas.
- Track sales trends to inform future strategies.
- Any other reasonable management request.
We are looking for:
- Proven ability to independently find and pursue customer leads in a B2B environment, ideally within the metalwork/mechanical engineering sector (minimum 4 years' experience).
- Strong understanding and application of the sales process for both new account development and customer management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills to build trust and rapport with clients across all levels.
- Negotiation focused on profitability and controlling proposals/tenders.
- Experience working with medium and some larger customers including quality procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Clear and concise communication skills for both customers and management.
- Proven ability to operate in a dynamic business environment.
- Education: A Levels minimum
- Preferred: Technical understanding of Mechanical Engineering (Laser Cutting, Fabrication, Finishing).
- Strong IT skills.
- Experience in Construction, Engineering, or Transport (Rail/Automotive) - desirable
