B2B Sales Account Executive – Focused on Account Growth and Client Relations

This is a Technical Sales position targeting the manufacturing sector, specifically in Welding, Fabrication, and Engineering solutions.

As the owner of your own portfolio, you will engage in a combination of new business development, growth initiatives, and account management.

Competitive compensation package including a base salary of £35,000, a car allowance of £4,800, and potential bonuses up to £12,000.

We are seeking an experienced B2B technical sales/account manager to join this family-oriented company that values creating a positive workplace for its employees, fostering growth and career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development:

  • Establish new business relationships aligned with sales strategies, securing new clients and achieving sales and margin objectives.
  • Develop account sales plans and provide reports to senior management to meet annual targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing to enhance lead generation and prepare sales presentations.
  • Work with estimation teams to assist in quotation preparation, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Plan and implement account strategies to target new clients using the CRM system.

Client Relations Management:

  • Manage a designated list of clients, nurturing long-term relationships.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of client needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and current client profiles in the CRM system.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss their requirements, build trust, and secure repeat business.
  • Convert leads into sales orders through effective communication and negotiation.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Generate weekly and monthly sales reports, analyzing performance against targets and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Monitor sales trends to inform future strategies.
  • Fulfill any other reasonable management requests.

We are looking for:

  • A proven track record of independently identifying and pursuing customer leads in a B2B context, preferably within the metalwork or mechanical engineering sectors (minimum 4 years' experience).
  • A strong grasp of the sales process for both new business development and client management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills to build rapport with clients at all levels.
  • Negotiation skills focused on profitability and managing proposals/tenders.
  • Experience working with medium to large clients, including familiarity with quality procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Clear and concise communication skills for both clients and management.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment.
  • Education: Minimum A Levels.
  • Preferred: Technical knowledge of Mechanical Engineering (Laser Cutting, Fabrication, Finishing).
  • Strong IT proficiency.
  • Experience in Construction, Engineering, or Transport (Rail/Automotive) is desirable.
