Central Bedfordshire is an ambitious authority, dedicated to excellence. Our strategic location and high quality of life make us one of the fastest growing areas in the country.

We uphold strong values and principles that guide our operations as an organization.

Community Reablement:

This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work arrangements, whether you are a student, a parent, or someone considering a gradual transition into retirement.

We prioritize work-life balance and support various flexible work patterns tailored to your needs.

Our reablement service assists individuals in returning home after hospital stays, helping them regain independence in daily activities. As a Community Reablement Worker, you will collaborate with clients in their homes, empowering them to reclaim essential skills and confidence through personalized support plans.

Your role may involve assisting with morning routines, meal preparation, or medication management. Rather than performing tasks for them, you will facilitate their ability to do things independently once more.

While experience and qualifications are beneficial, your personal values and attitude are paramount. A natural inclination to help others and a rewarding approach to supporting independence are essential.

Strong communication skills, flexibility, and companionship are key attributes for success in this role. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are required, with mileage expenses reimbursed at a competitive rate.

In return, we offer:

  • A flexible rota that accommodates your plans
  • Electric vehicle leasing scheme
  • A supportive and friendly management team
  • Enhanced pay rates for evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • iPad and iPhone for work purposes
  • Generous mileage reimbursement
  • Opportunities for professional development in Health and Social Care, including Care certificate and specialized training
  • Various career progression pathways within health and social care
  • Family-friendly policies and practices
  • An inclusive environment that values diversity
  • Access to staff networks and support groups
  • Annual leave of 25 days plus statutory holidays, increasing with service
  • Participation in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), including Life Assurance
  • Employee Assistance Programme for personal and work-related support
  • Extensive training and learning opportunities
  • Discounts from local and national retailers

Central Bedfordshire Council is committed to making our area 'A great place to live and work'.

Our aspiration is to be a truly flexible employer.
