Job Overview

As part of our expansion strategy, we are looking to hire a Technical Sales Specialist for Renishaw's Industrial Automation Product Division (IAPD). This pivotal role will act as both an applications expert and sales representative for IAPD offerings, focusing on cultivating our national sales network through automation integrators and service providers. The specialist will be responsible for showcasing, training, and supporting new products while driving business growth to meet strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a sales pipeline for products through integrators and service providers, aligning with global strategies set by the Global Sales Manager.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities nationally, leveraging established channels.
  • Demonstrate product proficiency during sales presentations at integrators, trade shows, open houses, and conferences.
  • Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to sales channels.
  • Document site visit reports, key account activities, and monthly expense reports.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key accounts for multiple sales opportunities.
  • Engage in extensive travel within the region and nationally to establish a market presence for the new product line.
  • Utilize the Renishaw brand to access potential accounts through existing sales teams.
  • Collaborate closely with the business manager, colleagues, and inside sales to ensure high-quality business and technical support for customers.
  • Communicate effectively with customer contacts at all levels, including management, technical, and purchasing.
  • Relay customer requirements and new product needs to the product development team.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office for creating reports, presentations, and general communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Robotic Automation applications with major robot brands (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB, Yaskawa).
  • Experience working with robotics integrators, service organizations, and end users.
  • Proven ability to navigate relationships within large organizations to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Eligibility to access ITAR-controlled data is required for compliance purposes.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a technical sales environment.
  • Technical certifications from major robot manufacturers.
  • Sales training experience.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to comprehend engineering principles.
  • Understanding of electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in information technology.
  • Solid mathematical skills.
