Job Description

Renishaw PLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Specialist to join our team. As a Senior EDA Librarian and PCB Design Support Expert, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of innovative products and maintaining the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) library and PCB Design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the creation and secondary checking of electronic component part data using library tools.
  • Create 3D models using Siemens NX software.
  • Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and datasheets.
  • Liaise with Electronic Engineers and Production Engineers to ensure component library standards and requirements are achieved.
  • Liaise with and support EDA Team members' tasks.
  • Support the development of EDA Library Tools and Processes.
  • Communicate progress regularly and promote team knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • HND (or equivalent) in electronics or associated discipline.
  • Experience with EDA tools and PCB design.
  • Understanding of PCBs, electronic components, and design documentation.
  • PC literate and familiarity with Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to work individually and in a team.
  • Good Communication skills.
Desirable Requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of EDA tools including Zuken/Altium and NX.
  • Knowledge of CAD library tools and 3D part creation.
  • Detailed knowledge of existing Renishaw processes.
  • Use of Syteline / Teamcenter.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of PCBs, electronic components, and design documentation.
Person Specification

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent skills in accuracy, good attention to detail, and a logical approach to problem-solving and self-motivation. The individual should have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and will be able to work well within a team environment. Having the ability to work to predefined time scales is also essential.
