Job Description

Renishaw PLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Specialist to join our team. As a Senior EDA Librarian, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and maintenance of our Electronic Design Automation (EDA) library and PCB design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Component Data Management: Support the creation and secondary checking of electronic component part data using library tools.
  • 3D Model Creation: Create 3D models using Siemens NX software.
  • Engineering Drawing Interpretation: Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and datasheets.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Liaise with Electronic Engineers and Production Engineers to ensure component library standards and requirements are achieved.
  • Team Support: Liaise with and support EDA Team members in their tasks.
  • Library Tool Development: Support the development of EDA Library Tools and Processes.
  • Progress Communication: Communicate progress regularly and promote team knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • Education: HND (or equivalent) in electronics or an associated discipline.
  • Experience: Experience with EDA tools and PCB design.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of PCBs, electronic components, and design documentation.
  • Technical Skills: PC literate and familiarity with Microsoft applications.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work individually and in a team, good communication skills.
Desirable Requirements
  • Advanced Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of EDA tools, including Zuken/Altium and NX.
  • CAD Library Tools: Knowledge of CAD library tools and 3D part creation.
  • Renishaw Processes: Detailed knowledge of existing Renishaw processes, including Syteline/Teamcenter.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced technical knowledge of PCBs, electronic components, and design documentation.
Person Specification

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent skills in accuracy, good attention to detail, and a logical approach to problem-solving. They should have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work well within a team environment. Having the ability to work to predefined time scales is also essential.
