Role Summary
As an Equity Investment Associate, your contributions will be impactful from day one.
This position offers a comprehensive opportunity to engage in various facets of the investment cycle, including direct investments, co-investments, and fund investments, covering a wide array of infrastructure and private equity activities, from transaction origination and structuring to asset management and portfolio oversight.
The successful applicant will join a collaborative group of equity Analysts, Associates, and Senior Associates working across both equity divisions.
You will have a clear career trajectory towards further specialization within either team, progressing from Senior Associate to Associate Investment Director and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of the Private Markets team, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting and facilitating origination efforts through targeted research and analysis across various themes and sectors Engaging with potential investment targets and monitoring current investee companies and investment managers Aiding in the preparation for meetings with management teams and key stakeholders Conducting investment due diligence, including quantitative modeling and qualitative assessments of investment and divestment opportunities, along with the preparation and review of due diligence, structuring, valuation, and returns analysis Supporting legal processes, including transaction documentation Coordinating with external advisors such as investment banks, General Partners (GPs), external legal counsel, and other consultants Co-authoring Investment Committee papers and contributing to the presentation of these materials at Investment Committee meetings Collaborating with internal teams, including responsible investment, tax, investment legal, operational due diligence, risk, and complianceCandidate Profile

To excel in this role, you should have:
Post-graduate experience in financial services, ideally within an investment or advisory context (investment management, investment banking, corporate finance, accounting, ratings agency, law, or consulting) Previous exposure to infrastructure and/or private equity sectors Strong analytical and numerical skills applicable to company valuation and financial analysis Proficiency in cash flow modeling (LBO and/or DCF modeling) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate internal and external relationships A collaborative team player who contributes to a supportive work environment A strong work ethic and a proactive attitude towards learning and development Eligibility to work in the UK with occasional travel to Europe, the US, and AustraliaWhy Choose USS?

The Private Markets Group (PMG) comprises a team of over 70 professionals overseeing approximately £25 billion in assets across a rapidly expanding and diverse portfolio of private equity, infrastructure, private credit, and property investments on behalf of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).
