About the Role
As an Equity Investment Associate, your contributions will be valued from day one.
This position offers a unique chance to engage in various facets of the investment cycle, including direct investments, co-investments, and fund investments, covering a wide array of infrastructure and private equity activities from transaction origination and structuring to asset management and portfolio oversight.
You will collaborate with a team of equity Analysts, Associates, and Senior Associates across multiple equity divisions.
Your career trajectory will lead you towards further specialization within either team, initially as a Senior Associate, with potential advancement to Associate Investment Director and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of the Private Markets team, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting in origination efforts through targeted research and analysis across various themes and sectors Engaging with potential investment targets and monitoring current investee companies and investment managers Aiding in the preparation for meetings with management teams and key stakeholders Conducting investment due diligence, including quantitative modeling and qualitative analysis of investment opportunities, along with preparation and review of due diligence, structuring, valuation, and returns analysis Supporting legal processes, including transaction documentation Coordinating with external advisors such as investment banks, General Partners (GPs), and legal counsel Co-authoring Investment Committee papers and contributing to their presentation at Investment Committee meetings Collaborating with internal departments including responsible investment, tax, investment legal, operational due diligence, risk, and complianceCandidate Profile

To excel in this role, you should have:
Relevant post-graduation experience in financial services, preferably within an investment or advisory context (such as investment management, investment banking, corporate finance, accounting, ratings agency, law, or consulting) Prior exposure to infrastructure and/or private equity Strong analytical and numerical skills applicable to company valuation and financial analysis Proficiency in cash flow modeling (LBO and/or DCF modeling) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for developing relationships both internally and externally A collaborative spirit, contributing to a supportive team environment A proactive work ethic and a desire to learn and grow The ability to work in the UK with occasional travel requirementsWhy Join Us?

The Private Markets Group (PMG) comprises a team of over 70 professionals overseeing approximately £25 billion in assets across a rapidly expanding and diverse portfolio of private equity, infrastructure, private credit, and property investments on behalf of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).
