About the Role
Colas Road UK is seeking a skilled Highways Maintenance Operative to join our team in Chester and Cheshire. As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out various highway maintenance duties, including patching, traffic management, and winter maintenance. You will work closely with your team members to promote effective health and safety within the workplace and ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out highway maintenance duties, including patching, traffic management, and winter maintenance
- Work closely with team members to promote effective health and safety within the workplace
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Participate in incident management and winter service
- Effectively use Colas plant and fleet and ensure all vehicles are checked safe before taking out in accordance with company policy
- Undertake all other appropriate duties as assigned by your line manager or Ganger as required by the business
Requirements
- HGV Class 2 Licence
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience of highways maintenance and/or relevant qualifications (NRSWA, TM, Gully Emptying, Soft Estate etc.)
- Good communication skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments and in all weather conditions
