Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Hamilton Woods. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical systems, including sensors, switches, motors, and pumps.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair of complex systems, including pumps, temperature probes, and pressure sensors.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards at all times.
  • Perform new design and upgrades, installation, and movements of existing machines.
  • Operate and maintain service plant, including boilers, chilled water, air, and effluent treatment.
  • Ensure accurate temperature monitoring using digital thermometers and infrared sensors.
  • Monitor pressure using diaphragm pressure gauges and digital pressure transmitters.
  • Service and maintain plate and tubular heat exchangers for pasteurization processes.
  • Work with homogenizers to ensure the stability of dairy products.
  • Operate and maintain centrifugal separators for cream separation and whey clarification.
  • Oversee the maintenance of stainless-steel storage tanks and mixing vessels.
  • Manage filtration systems, including microfiltration and ultrafiltration units.
  • Conduct maintenance on packaging machines, including filling and sealing machines.
  • Ensure CIP systems function efficiently to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Use quality control instruments, such as spectrophotometers and pH meters, to support product quality.
  • Utilize automation and control systems, including SCADA, to optimize production processes.
  • Maintain cooling and refrigeration units to ensure optimal product storage conditions.

Requirements:

  • Recognized engineering accreditation, electrical with optional mechanical qualification.
  • Proven experience in maintenance engineering, preferably within the food industry.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
  • Experience with pumps, temperature probes, pressure sensors, and other production equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications or certifications are desirable.
