About the Role

Croydon Council is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Strategic Procurement and Governance team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and systems that drive efficiency and effectiveness in our procurement function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines that ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best practices.
  • System Implementation: Support the development and implementation of strategic procurement systems, including Purchase to Pay (P2P) systems, contract management, and e-tendering systems.
  • Performance Reporting: Produce regular reports on procurement, purchasing, and contract management performance across the council, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including contract managers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Procurement Experience: Proven experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
  • System Knowledge: Familiarity with P2P systems, contract management, and e-tendering systems.
  • Change Management: Ability to manage change and implement new systems and processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
