Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Ward Administrator for our Cardiac Intensive Therapy Unit (CITU). The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication abilities, demonstrate teamwork, and exhibit the capacity to work autonomously while managing the daily clerical operations of the ward. Proficiency in basic computer applications is advantageous, and comprehensive training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the multi-disciplinary team in delivering and upholding high-quality service standards efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff regarding non-clinical inquiries.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of patient information is maintained at all times.
  • Assist in safeguarding patients' safety, comfort, and welfare in accordance with Trust policies.

Personal Service Duties:

  • Manage incoming and outgoing telephone communications, coordinating with nursing staff as necessary.
  • Engage in both telephone and face-to-face interactions with patients, relatives, and staff on various topics.
  • Welcome patients and their families to the ward, orienting them to their surroundings, including their designated bed space.
  • Handle the receipt and distribution of mail for patients and staff, redirecting as needed.
  • Relay pertinent messages efficiently.
  • Organize and facilitate visits for patients and the ward.
  • Collaborate with the nurse in charge to assist with timely patient transfers.
  • Coordinate with the bed management team.
  • Work with the ambulance service to arrange patient transport for transfers and discharges.
  • Assist in obtaining and ordering meals according to patients' preferences in conjunction with ward staff.
  • Order catering supplies for both patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with all personnel providing services, including catering, laundry, domestic staff, and porters.
