Lead Procurement Consultant

About the Role:
Proftech Talent is seeking a skilled professional to join our dynamic Procurement team, focusing on New Product Development. We are looking for a Lead Procurement Consultant to enhance our Project Procurement efforts.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee projects from initiation to Supplier selection, including quotation evaluation, sample validation, and product launch.
  • Enhance pricing and contractual terms with Suppliers while identifying opportunities for cost savings through effective negotiation techniques.
  • Conduct cost analysis for both new and existing products, implementing cost reduction strategies through regular benchmarking.
  • Research, select, and acquire high-quality products and materials.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating optimal pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Possess knowledge of commodity codes and their application in assessing total landed costs.
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams, management, and warehousing operations.
  • Monitor product quality and address any discrepancies with suppliers and management.
  • Analyze data to identify industry and consumer trends relevant to product categories.
  • Develop and implement a strategic long-term plan for category development.
  • Create exit strategies for underperforming products.
  • Foster and enhance relationships with key suppliers to improve pricing and service quality.
  • Work alongside the purchasing team to ensure adequate product availability.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Lead category management initiatives to optimize product ranges.
  • Collaborate with buyers and sales teams to broaden product categories.
  • Assist commercial teams in forecasting product demand to ensure sustainable inventory levels.
  • Identify and onboard new Suppliers, conducting necessary assessments and compliance checks for initial orders.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, including buying, marketing, and sales.
  • Prepare reports and updates for internal stakeholders as required.
