Position Overview

CPE Pressure Vessels is a renowned engineering firm, recognised for its expertise in delivering customised pressure vessels to the global offshore, water, and nuclear sectors.

As part of a larger network of engineering enterprises, we are experiencing exciting growth and new opportunities.

In light of an internal restructuring, we are seeking to appoint a Lead Project Management Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

This pivotal role is designed to provide vital support to the Projects team, as well as the Quality and Manufacturing departments.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organisational, planning, and communication abilities, alongside a keen attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.

Essential Skills

A high degree of computer proficiency is required, particularly in various software applications, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Experience within an engineering or manufacturing context is highly beneficial, particularly in manufacturing operations related to welding.

Project Management Duties

Effective project oversight is crucial to ensure quality, timely delivery, and adherence to budget constraints. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing multiple projects concurrently, including client interactions and coordination of project components.
  • Overseeing and managing all project modifications with clients.
  • Supporting the maintenance of positive labour relations within the fabrication environment.
  • Monitoring the performance of contracts and projects.
  • Ensuring that client technical and quality specifications are comprehended, agreed upon, and communicated clearly to all stakeholders within CPE.
  • Generating technical documentation such as Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Creating comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) using in-house ERP systems to facilitate procurement.
  • Assisting in the procurement of both stock and non-stock items alongside the projects team.
  • Fostering strong external relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party verification entities to achieve project goals.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven project management expertise, with the ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel fabrication processes, including welding and non-destructive testing (NDE), is advantageous.
  • Experience as a Project Manager, ideally with knowledge of pressure vessel codes.
Employment Details

This is a full-time position, comprising 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with experience, along with a benefits package that includes a bonus scheme.
